I am so delighted for the opportunity to share this very special journey with you. I was once told by my dear friend and mentor, Albino Garcia, a dedicated youth advocate of Chichemecan and Lenape Apache heritage, that each of us carries our grandmothers and our grandfathers in our hearts.
He said it is the healthy grandmother and grandfather who give us a clear yes or a clear no to the choices we make in our lives and that it is essential to get to known them intimately in order to heal. In the years following I developed a very strong relationship with my ancestral grandmothers and found clear and powerful guidance through them.
Yet for years, I neglected my male ancestors, until the loss of my father and only brother to cancer as well as a personal health crisis forced me to look at the wound within my masculine lineage. What I have discovered in the years following the death of my father and brother, and my own healing crisis, is that each of us, men and women alike, carry the wounded masculine within us. There may be no more essential work than to encounter and heal this wounded masculine within.
To heal this wound, I believe, requires that we begin to remember and come into relationship once again with our healthy and benevolent male ancestors, who hold the key insight needed to heal the masculine within and without.
This journey was inspired by a vision I received to support healing for both my brother and my father. It has opened tremendous healing for me and I know it has the power to activate powerful healing within you, too, dear listener.
Let us dream together of a world where men nourish and cherish each other, and women stand in supportive witness to the healing of the Masculine Heart. Onward.
